user bullying you say ? well like most of these tech giants when there isnt enough competition, they do what they please regardless of what the user wants and this one of the problems they start out with good moral philosophy and end up with a bad moral philosophy.
paypal appears not to be an accepted automatic fees payment method ? which isnt made clear when attempting to list an item on ebay ?
you state that paypal is one of the accepted automatic methods for paying listing fees ? yet when i attempt to setup automatic payments from my paypal account, on the paypal site, paypal insists on having my bank details or a credit card as a funding source ? this effectively makes automatic payments from paypal a lie, ie if i have to add a new card or bank details into paypal in order pay my fees with paypal.
Then effectively i have to add card or bank details in order to sell anything on ebay, regardless of the positive balance of my paypal account, I used to be able to make one off payments in order to pay ebay fees ? why has this changed ? many years ago I originally verified my paypal account to start selling by a verified payment using a bank card, therefore i have been effectively vetted, this card has now naturally expired and i have a high positive feedback and have been using ebay for a very long time, one of the reasons not to have a card associated with anything ebay or paypal is because of the number of horror storys you hear of people whose lives were ruined by all cards and associated accounts being frozen by ebay or paypal with very little explanation or recompense in some form of supposed dispute, this is why i would not like to necessarily give you any more financial details than necessary.
tell me … if one way or another i have to have a card or bank account associated with selling things on ebay, then what worth is paypal as an alternate system of online money ? effectively i may as well use a credit card for everything anyway because thats whats fundamentally on the line ? in other words a positive paypal balance is even in your own eyes not an effective legal funding source ? and therefore carrys very little weight or significance financially ?
if it is necessary to have a card associated with an ebay seller account in order to sell anything, then please make that “inordinately clear” in advance and don’t try to say that a paypal balance is an accepted funding source for ebay fees ? when it quite clearly appears not to be ? as we all know that ebay and paypal are effectively the same animal, and therefore which of the two holds the card / bank details is an irrelevance ? in the question of whether they are necessary in order to list something. if I list something in the local paper or a shop window does a publisher or the news agent need my credit card or bank details before allowing me to sell something ? you have previously verified who i am and where i live, now you seem to be requesting financial access to me that must be updated and constantly verified in realtime ?
