Immigration and UK population an email to Mr Browns Office

Your message that theyre will be No cap on immigration ? because its great for the economy ? A country is not measured purely in economic terms except by an economist !

A certain section of society have had to put up with forty years of immigration being foisted upon them, by those people of a class, who didnt, and still do not have to live with the consequences of it !

ie dont have to compete for the same housing and jobs and services as these people. These people were brought in because certain jobs need filling etc, they rarely wish to stay in these jobs for long, as such they quickly shift to middle class aspirations etc, and the 2nd or 3rd generation offspring can be found taking places at cambridge or oxford. Some section perhaps may fall into the claiming classes, and a new set of workers is needed, This process though temporarily beneficial for the economy soon leads to a never-ending need of fresh blood at the expense of the native population and is not a permanent solution, this immigration has benefits for those who own property or run business’es and those that need a cappuccino brought to them via cheap labour, but for those native english who are not in the above groups. This immigration serves as little, but extra pressure for housing, jobs and health services. You must view the culture as a living whole, not just in a distant economic sense, The ever increasing population in britain is definately leading to a greater sense of incivility, and N london where I live is so Non english already, as to make me the minority, yet i do not have any rights groups to stand up for me, because im supposedly being stood up for by my native culture, but in reality ive never felt more disenfranchised in my own country. Politics is losing touch with english peoples views on all fronts, and your population expansionist and pro immigration for the sake of the economy agenda, couldn’t in my opinion be more out of line with general opinion, only the comfortably well off living behind the walls of their homes don’t care either way, because money means they are insulated from this culture and the effects of its decisions.

Even many 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants would call for less immigration. But in reality you think your operating an economist > come prime minister, knows best policy, when in reality, a single economy may do above average against a global downturn, but in reality sustained immigration will not defeat global economic trends which all economys are subject too. The idea we need an inverse pyramid of population growth to sustain an aging population is also crazy, as this premise was also bargained on by pension companys to missell pension policys, when more realistic population/pension growth estimates and hence a higher level of lifetime contributions, should have been the rule of the day. Small ecomonys are surely easier to manage and run than large ones, this is a small island, and i’d prefer the uk to be run more like a scandinavian economy, with limited immigration and clearer control. because at the moment all i can see, is a privatised internationalised politically emasculated populous, being driven into a euro centric culture, ever expanding as if it were a much larger country towards incivility, completely monetaristic in nature, yet largely corporatised and wollowing impotent civil service which is a wastefull beuraucratic mess, and that in my view isnt a culture to be proud off, Sorry if your view doesnt match mine, but then perhaps you have a vested interest in your own perspective, and buying your publicity machines own spin, which we’ve paid for. Try something new today at least have the balls to invisage that the population that is currently resident today is in the main part (ie much much more limited immigration) sufficient stock with which to sustain this country in all its future needs, and if you dont think it is, isnt it time we at least investigated how to make it, so it is. After all : if 60 million estimated people isnt sufficient for this isle, do tell me what population figure your really heading for ?

Or as I suspect with the ever open door to european citizens policy imposed on us, by an ever expanding europe, everything is in fact out of control ? what size population will be enough in relation to this land mass ? I certainly dont think we need to boost population growth through immigration as im sure 60 million people arent going to stand still on the fertility front. If I get some standardised office reply I will resend all this by snail mail, so that i t might pass under the eyes of the man who should be able to make a difference.
