“lady” geek > divisive marketing

Lady geek

Sadly there are those people whose talents are so weak they feel the need to Market the abilities they do have through the filter, of the sex or race they were born with ? as the only way to be able to compete with other people, who play on a level playing field and don’t make a deal out what sex they happen to be ! As a marketing tool. Sadly Maggie Philbin seems to be some kind of overt feminist, who thinks women need some specially made and marketed version of everything as though they are breed apart ? as evidenced by her video testimonial for this show (are lady geek and philbin related somehow ?).

What is this program saying ? women need shows made by women because otherwise they will get confused ? admiteadly most of the reviews are so lightweight as to never satisfy men. And the fact they appear to have a sexist employment policy in that just women review the apps, well I didnt think that was allowed in this culture today ? Then other hand why im even fussed to rant about lady geek making her way in the world with whatever methodology of marketing she chooses ? hmm i think its the devisiveness of a show which markets around sexuality ? christ womens magazines are more offensive ? If … ‘I was a woman’ i wouldnt want to be … ‘like men’, as thats seems also pointless, but I dont think I could ever identify with say womans hour either … ( which seems so overtly anti men and wierdly a past it has been 70’s minded feminist tirade ) nor could I ever enjoy womens magazines with their terrible preponderance to dwell on gossip and plebrity bullshit. Real geek women and I know a few (one working in robotics etc) dont feel the need to pigeonhole themselves in this way.

And is there any need for women to create a show manned and staffed by women for women ? Why ? do they think cant they make it in the web reviewing tech industry because of some sexual prejudice ? hmm yes they can make it > as evidenced by all the women doing a great job in the tech review industry ?

mucho respect molly > one of the best truly honest tech reporters, hanging it with boys, an better than them shes got more balls than most in what she says, she’s female tech journalism at its best.

The great Veronica Belmont.

Though admiteadly there is now a trend for pretty people to come in and takeover over and be the front facing personality of technology, whilst the real geeks are in the mushroomy background doing the heavy lifting, not getting paid as much for their lack of face, and this is an american trend generally for everything which weve imported, but truthfully id prefer to view the genuinely technically gifted regardless of what sex they are, rather than the pretty face, for the sake of it. luckily Veronica Belmont is the rare exception that has both beauty and genuine brains. though to be honest the fact shes very easy on the eye, must have helped her out, but that is something she couldnt do something about, anymore than someone who is ugly, unless she tried to dress doudy or something ridiculous, and her looks would have helped her out in any field she entered, this is the honestly the facist world we must recognise we live in. But veronica at least hasnt rested on those laurels, she has made a point of being deserved of the job she has, by being on the money when it comes to tech understanding, and respecting geekness where she sees it … full points.

Back to Lady Geek who also seems to own the domain “girlygeekdom” as if being a girl geek is somehow a different species in comparison to being a man geek, i cant stand fully grown adults using the terms girls or boys to describe themselves, we used to live in a culture in which theyre were men or women ! now we just have girls and boys. its also a pity the examples of females presenter above i mention are both american and when and a british female english presenter enters the field, she sees the necessity to develop a divisive stereotype niche to represent herself.

Women technology experts are a bit like afro-caribbean poets in my opinion they don’t really exist because its a false label we are all human beings ! and if your not prepared to exist on that realital basis your ultimately a devisive person, as in really your either a “technology expert” or a “poet” FULL STOP. When you start adding the extra labels your already a fail because it indicates the only way you can survive, is to make artificial marketing divisions in the Market, this deliberate attempt at segmenting her audience into just women is her way of surviving by saying she’s not prepared to compete against male tech experts or something.

I think all these divisions stink whether it be, marketing specific for gay or lesbian people etc, its all about cliques ! and self serving ultimately or dividing people into groups, so an agendered entity can market that group into a corner for its own profit.

The thing I think stinks about this is those people who further attempt to segment this already fractured society purely to provide themselves with a niche way of making a wage, is really weak and destructive to this already heavily fractured segregative multiculturalism that has destroyed any sense of unity in this culture. Feminism’s main devisive and evil flaw was too set women against men for marketing puroposes, though we are different sexes I don’t see the neccessity to artificially create animosity ?
