Capitalism by its fundamental structure, creates the haves and the have not’s, it is the nasty bi-product of something necessary and good but also heavily flawed, without moderation capitalism runs to its darker selfish nature, personal fortunes are pointless and serve no function, unless put to work to benefit humanity as a whole, all the “profits” are merely just ‘a tax on someone’, just as their is no free lunch, there is also no such thing as free money, someone or something whether indirectly or not, will always be paying the price for someone else’s wealth. Charity is the “band aid” that plasters over the fundamental iniquities of society, whilst enabling the hyper wealthy to assuage their guilt if they suffer any.
ebay bargains how to get them … rarely …
most things second hand and in ok condition and order, well described and with their listings ending in the evening, will for 80% of the time … go for 80% of average new retail price. sometimes more than new has been seen.
Theyre are a relatively low numbers of private sellers left on ebay, due to ebay trying to force out low value items, by making it too expensive too list them on ebay, so they can furnish the shareholder with better profits, which means its ethos have moved away from the private second hand seller, ebay would love to push ebay into being a market portal for commercial retailers, and the proportion of commercial sellers to private sellers is increasing all the while, recently out of a page of 16 sellers for one type of item, only one was a private 2nd hand seller. Meaning bargains are sadly not likely to be had in items with any demand/popularity or function left in them. Also there is a deeply worrying trend for ebay to default to making all auctions private meaning researching the item or previous bids your purchasing from the seller before purchase is now almost impossible, even to determine if people had trouble with the item your buying from the seller, this is big mistake in the ebay system as it now damages the feedback system, do not give feedback to a seller until you are satisfied with an item regardless of pressure imposed by sellers to give 5 star reviews before you’ve even received the item ?
The only way to get a bargain is :
• to find items ending at odd times
• errors in the naming or the description
• poor listings that might put some buyers off
• items so specialised in quality that most people don’t know how good they are
• always bid your maximum amount at the very last moment ie dont show your hand early. sniping tools are good a making this happen automatically for you, though they don’t guarantee bargains.
• bid on lots and lots of items stick to a max bid under new price your aiming to get and wait until lady luck falls on you.
• be prepared to make a max bid for a good item that is at least 75% of retail for 2nd hand items most often under and you will lose.
and if you not countering in your time to save the equivalent very often of 30% then your not being honest with yourself most often spending an hours shaving £10.00 of a price isn’t worth it, regardless of how much the bargain hunter blood is in you ?
or of course you could accept the idea that the new definition of 2nd hand bargain is now 80% or more of retail ?
technology for instance is a hard area to get a bargain, unless your purchasing direct from a chinese e-seller and in in that scenario you have to be careful, to make sure that the quality of the item is export quality.
easier categories to get a bargain include 2nd hand clothing and shoes for instance, although clothing is one of the most variable in terms of what the item is actually like when it turns up.
The problem is in the past you might be able to get a second hand item for 50% of the new street price etc, ebay is now pushing that up to 90% regardless of the age or use of the item.
if you know of a new ebay equivalent with very low or no listing fees and cheap payment fees .comment it below
mackeeper hmm
regardless of the merits or not of this software :
most of its features we can live without or use the OS versions or free alternatives of its features
Its marketing methods seem to stem from the grimy PC side of things saturation bombing with web popups to convince you as users on a platform with few issues that you need to use its software to stay safe or run at normal speed.
I fundamentally dont really agree with any suite of software running in the background on a mac
background process are prone to slowing your machine down, If I have an issue, that is when I tend to run software and not before, which I believe you can get away with on a mac, maybe not a pc but thats a different matter.
Once you start down a route of believing you need security software running in order to be OK when using a computer, then its a bit like some company has imposed a yearly tax on you, for using your computer. this is to be avoided at all costs on the mac platform, for it appears to be the mainstay on the PC platform, that PC based software security companys have a strong unhealthy grip on PC users imagination.
the unemployed’s viewpoint
Dear Ben Gilet
Bullshit – if theyre arent any jobs, start a business don’t expect a job to be handed to you, stop playing computer games and get of your arse. Whose paying for your flat mate ? on housing benefit are we ? your not getting £135 every two weeks if that’s the case are you ? your getting a great deal more? no jobs in your area ? ever heard of moving ? starting a business ?
not feeling great ? perhaps you should stop living inside and playing computer games for an existence ?
tough love is what you need
what one offshore legal advisor said re US government on the wealthy elite :
“Personally, I don’t see any reason to think this administration is going to go after the so-called one percent. Too many of its members are either members of that elite group already — or have high hopes of joining after they retire.”
truth will out, the 1 percent try to control democracy because its in their financial benefit.
Waltham fighting the CPZ
residents in waltham fight CPZ – go for it guys
CPZ’s are a stealth tax which get implemented by pushing the commuter parking to new areas by moving the CPZ boundary, its a one way ratchet conversion as the CPZ reaches the fringe of your area the uncontrolled boundary area becomes a hot zone for commuter parking, enabling the council to expand the CPZ into your area, once your paying £25.00 – £101.00 a year it will just become another form of profitable taxation that vicariously allows the council to import and employ more foreign born african traffic wardens for no good reason, and over the years the council will increase the cost of it until in 5 years time, your paying an extra £250.00 a year to park outside your own house on top of Council Tax, the thing is a horror. Also none of your guests will ever be able to freely park or visit you without you or them paying for the privilege think about agreeing to CPZ’s very carefully.
They’re just stealth Taxation and more unneccessary cost and bureaucracy, and the bureaucracy in this country is currently too large, councils only know how to increase the cost to you the consumer of their services, they’re are a gaping waste of money, since they never manage to shrink they’re budgets as well as expand them. But then ridiculous rules on social housing don’t help the cost control for councils.
The situation before CPZ’s were invented was not worse, it just pushes the problem around, if theyre were no CPZ’s it would alleviate the focused stress points of commuter parking and distribute them better, after all people arent going to stop commuting by car to london and parking because of this, theyll just park further out, or waste more energy and productive time driving further to find a place to park, reducing productive economic activity Large underground cheap car parks would be a better solution.

usb flash disk based keychain ejection issues … Apple !
been doing the same as this for years, I constantly have problems once I insert the usb disk that contains my keychain, that if i attempt to eject it safely, it says i have to quit effectively every program on the computer before it will alow me to eject it ? and sometimes it even wants me to quit the finder to eject it, so I end up force ejecting the usb disk, the problem is the dialog that comes up and says I have to quit programs before I can eject the usb disk. Gives no indicator as to which keychain item is causing this issue, I have 400-500 keychain items so its a drag to establish where the problem lies, ever experienced the same … any ideas ?
installing snow leopard via target mode from newer machine to older machine
Ok I was attempting to do a target disk mode install of snow leopard from a thunderbolt 2011 imac to a a slighty earlier manufactured unibody macbook pro whose restore disk was 10.6.3, but i was using a usb flash disc clone of an SL vanilla 10.6.0 install disk on a 2011 imac whose restore disks are 10.6.6 only, ok as listed below when the install entered its second reboot phase , why it does a reboot now i dont know but its irritating to say the least especially when your installing on an external volume and not the boot volume ? at this point my imac proceeded to spool shell text and then kernal panic and refuse to boot ! bear in mind here … I wasnt even attempting to install on the imacs internal disk at all, just via it to a macbook pros hard drive in target mode connected via firewire to the imac, this boot failure on the imac did not resolve itself before I had smc reset the imac removed all peripherals done disk and permissions repair on the imacs disk !, probably the smc reset was the crucial action. Ok the moral of this story is this if installing snow leopard via target mode to an external disk/machine, make sure the version of snow leopard your installing is a version capable of booting the host machine which is doing the installing and capable of booting the machines whose drive your installing to via target mode or ideally the newest version of the installer you can get ie 10.6.8 otherwise at the reboot phase of the install the host machine running the installer may well fail or on restart of the target disk installed machine it will also fail. Not all snow leopard install disks are created equal. at least make sure the version of the installer your running is equal or later in version than the restore discs of all machines involved regardless of the age of machine whose drive you are installing to. Or of course doing a disc/dvd based install you could try the dvd swap trick listed below :
this also indicates that if you are buying a retail snow leopard install disc you really need to make sure its a 10.6.8 retail install disk, otherwise it will fail to work on half the machines you want to install it to ! nearly all early snow leopard retail disk will sadly be 10.6.0 and will fail to boot loads of the machines released after the retail disk release ! you are warned. would apple tell you of any of this complexity, you must be joking apple dont give a shit about informing the user of this kind of mess!
please note i am repeating the information below from a post by john fair and all credit goes to him, wont really work for a usb flash disc based install of OS X but there we go, dvd installs this will solve your problem, by disk swapping at the right moment.

After 6 days and NUMEROUS attempts I have figured out how to get Snow Leopard onto the new Mac Mini!! It turns out I wasn’t thinking the problem all the way through. I thought that the Mini was causing the kernel panic when connected in Target Disk Mode. However I was trying to install the retail Snow Leopard (which is 10.6.0) onto the Mini using an MBP which required 10.6.3!
There is a step after all of the applicable files are copied to the Mini (TDM) where the Source machine reboots and is supposed to continue the install. This is where my MBP was freezing up and I couldn’t understand why. Well it turns out that the MBP is attempting to boot from the SL disk (10.6.0), however this machine requires a minimum of OS X 10.6.3 so the boot was hanging.
I ejected the retail version of OS X, input the Recovery disk I got with the MBP (which is 10.6.3) and the install continued as usual. Once installed I booted directly to the Mini’s hard drive (TDM) via the MBP and ran Software Update to get to 10.6.8. Then rebooted and let the Mini boot itself…and we’re up!
Steps:
1) Put Mini in Target Disk Mode (Firewire only)
2) Put SL retail install disk into Host Mac and install to the TDM drive
3) When the reboot hangs power the machine down (or if you’re fast hold down Option on that reboot) and restart holding Option.
4) When the boot choice screen appears eject the Retail disk and input your Recovery disk.
5) Boot to the Recovery disk and the install picks up automatically (don’t worry, it’s actually installing 10.6.0 even though you’re booted into 10.6.3’s recovery).
6) Once you’ve gone through the new user introduction stuff (input username, etc) run Software Update
7) Power down the Mini and restart it w/o TDM.
8) Profit
