what benefits … should afford you :

a roof over your head not in a location of your choosing
a small amount of money to be able to buy food sufficient to survive on a healthily diet not organic anything or junk food
water rates and council tax waived by the supplier and a limited amount of electricity / gas at government negotiated rates.
child benefit for 1 child plus perhaps ? a secondary child at a lower rate and no more child benefits beyond that point
government subsidised broadband by the cheapest supplier probably talktalk, might ? be a bonus on top for free, so that we keep people in a digital age.

it should not be sufficient to afford you :

Fags
booze
sky tv
broadband or mobile phones or any telecommunication costs.
large screen tellys , gadgets up the wazoo etc
holidays
school trips
Birthday and Christmas presents

It should not be indefinately available, you should be able to claim it for a limited period only, child tax credits are bullshit as well we should not be giving people money for having children they cant pay for.

people with incomes above the average wage, should not get topup benefits of any kind. ie no child tax credits for people with a combined family income above £26,000 a year. were are currently in a scenario in which people who are making £40,000 as a family are still able to claim some form of benefits this must end.

personally i’d limits benefits to a family of four to a maximum of around £18,000 per annum, its perfectly feasable to survive on this money.

and people who use the “theirs no jobs” bullshit can retrain or start their own business dont rely on someone to provide you with a job, this is not the days of “tut mill” ?
