Finsbury Park is fast becoming traffic ridden at all times even the small roads, Tollington park road for instance a minor road in the area is a constant taffic jam half the day, why around 11.45 am there is a static line of mainly expensive cars with one person at the wheel half the length of the street I dont know ? I hope this isnt a knock on and permanent effect of the recent congestion zone expansion ? I myself use the over-congested public transport but that’s another issue.
The congestion on the roads is indicative of the real population problem, it seems the governments only solution to the overcrowding and incivility that is developing in city’s appears to be to try and price people out of them, the new capitalist labour’s true face, the truth is to some extent the days of just letting population sizes in citys control themselves by the more uncivil it gets the more people leave are well over, because theyre are so many people, who it appears are prepared to put up with worse and worse conditions, burying theyre heads in the sands as concerns living conditions, road congestion etc, certainly now euro expansion has foisted on us this polish influx who all seem quite keen on living in uncivil conditions, lack of space amenities and extreme cost multiple room sharing, oversupporting the already supremely greedy multiple house owning for rental income, landlord elite class, who seem determined to hold the rental market up by housing the endless supply of cheap labour for the other immigration approving set : business’s looking for cheap good labour. This situation is only going to get worse when the rest of eastern europe becomes available to move here in, in the near future.
We need some control on immigration into london as at the moment theyre appears to be little and it looks out of control, if we must have ? more immigration in this country, it would be nice if it were more evenly distributed, having travelled around britain to some extent its quite obvious to me that most immigrants seem to head for central englands large citys, for theyre communitys, work etc understandable, but this also further excacerbates the already overheated property market, pushing it further away from the already resident young lower to middle class poor, the prospect of house ownership, which was once seen as an ideal of england for all people, has become impossible and quite devisive, as that house owning set not content with one house seem monopoly style intent on owning the whole board and pushing the market further out of reach of those yet to join the property ownership game, theyre should be taxes/law in place to discourage more than one house ownership for pure rental purposes.
lilly allen on some new program mooted the same thought as me about limiting multiple property ownership to say three houses as a way of giving the youth a chance.
These rules would obviously and hopefully cause a decrease in house value temporarily, but at the same time should allow more first time buyers into the market, theyreby shoring up the loss overall.
The government can make all sorts of coo-ing about how it gives a crap about different sections of society, but actions and not words are all anything can be judged by, and as far as im concerned unless you earn 30k a year you dont even register on the governments radar, your basically some drone somewhere they dont give a shit about, unless of course your in the claiming classes, endlessly living off someone elses taxes. The true poverty bracket in my opinion is the literate poor, trapped between their morals not allowing them to belong to the claim culture/benefits etc, and yet not earning enough to be able to afford to live properly in london, this section of society is ill served by the governments endlessy monetarist agenda.
I dont think at any point in recent english history, has culture more clearly said to its people “get a greedy personality and become rich or suffer the consequences”. Money like in america is sadly becoming the measure of all things, its now almost the case here in britain that wealth equates to intelligence in most peoples eyes.
