boy do they need to smooth out the rough edges in this program, too many things badly thought out in this program, slightly too off the top of my head too illustrate them all but :

For starters … how about when you label one email as junk it moves it there immediately, not 5 seconds later ?

How about Mail not spending half its life checking to see whether emails in mailboxes need recoloring everytime you click on a mailbox ? whilst at the same time appearing allowing you to mess with said mailbox contents and maybe getting confused.

How about if you apply a rule multiple times manually because an item doesnt move on the first attempt ? it doesnt then move duplicate emails, into the moved too folder then magically lose all the emails in that folder, due to it having applied a rule to move an email three times in an impossible way when only one moved email should exist there ? because on the second and third attempts the moved email should have moved from the original folder in the first place before the said mail rule could be reapplied an email which shouldn’t be there already ?

How about when i have “on my mac” selected in the left column and i do a search it doesnt then automatically select “all emails” for me when i do search on said mailbox defeating the point of selecting its contents on the left ?, whilst i also have on my mac selected in the left column ? counter intuitive ? bad interface design.

Removing the differentation between “on my mac” folders eeek !?!? as everything is “on my mac” you idiots, bad analogy. And the account mailboxes above which are really accounts, and just treat inbox drafts sent trash and junk as locked folders ? the user cant rename or delete ? less flaming confusing I think.

Also when stuff is deleted move it to the trash folder immediately dont leave the darn thing greyed out and ghosted in front of me when i just ask you to move the damn thing already to trash ?

ooh and how about a keyboard shortcut for New Mailbox ?!?!

and while were getting clever how about something that automatically creates folders for multiple emails coming from the same non email domains ie not for hotmail or google type email domains but for commercial ones that dont sell give out email addresses to the public. and auto filtering them into said folder in the future ? without having to manually create smart mailboxes ? maybe a threshold thing if above 3 emails from the same address filter them into their own email folder in a by domain organised heirarchy ?

And also a way to set the default columns viewed and order for the whole program, and force locking sort by to a default, and when it is changed not whizzing the view to the opposite end of the scrollbar when you select a different sorting so as to invalidate clicking on it in the first place, when your after a sort inversion ??!?!?

interface design is so damn important and so many people balls it up! including apple especially when theyre trying to be too fancy and failing to get the basics right.

Also while were at it do you think you could make the change to custom calendar colour work and be set consistently in ical ? youve only had 5 paid operating system revisions to get it right !
