so if we take the presumption that our culture was very strongly established in the 1940′s, to such an extent that we had sold it as a brand around the world culturally, and to our empire at that time. Now post the 1950′s we slowly devolved control of our empire to its native populations, but allot of the control we had gained in empire, had been attained by middle to upper class internationalist power mongers, offering these people around the world the concept that they were part of the british brand of empire and to a large extent had rights equal to those of native british citizens in the empire, including often the right of residence in the mother country, this promise was made by one class group, but the resulting immigrational cost in these isles was paid by another class, the common class, who though had benefited from empire did not see the major benefit, nor did realise they would be paying the cost of this empire citizenship scheme, by having to compete with immigrants on an equal footing for resources in their own land.

Most importantly it was our kind of immigrational policy set in the seventies that really knackered our cohesion as a culture, rather than the immigration itself, because we went for a kind of segregational multi-culturalism, whereby there was no pressure on immigrants to adhere to our cultural tenets. The fifties based immigration from the carribbean isles, at least these people wanted to join british culture and to speak the language, and had respect for the tenets and ideals of the culture they were joining.

Also our over ammicability of nature led us to over prioritise the welfare of minority populations at the expense of british majoritys sense of unity as a culture, meaning that some councils are now so representative of foreign populations that certain dense cultural population centres will print street signs in foreign languages, in the UK, which condsidering how successfully we have managed to export our language culture is really quite absurd.

And if they wished not to sign up to that, they could instead been under a temporary stay economic migrant basis. Boy Scouts … Oh Sorry … apologies for being male … Scouts ! what ?

Boys May not Join guides or brownies, but girls may join cubs and scouts, this is ridiculous over PC male prejudice gone mad.

There is another organisation that caters for both girls and boys in the same troops “woodcraft”, there is no necessity to insist on being a cub or a boy scout as a girl, all you need to do is make sure the ethos in the brownies or guides is more adventurous as there is no reason why brownies and guides can’t be as exciting as cubs and scouts ?

What needs to be understood here, is that in this over pc world, where there is no separation of the sexes at any point. Boys could do with a break from girls and girls could do with a break from boys, after all i’m sure boys who have been at school all day with girls, sometimes like the idea of hanging out with other boys and just doing boy things without having there minds addled by the pressure of interrelating with girls or having to consider another sex in the equation of their activitys, as boys in a group all together have one dynamic, and throw a girl into that mix and that dynamic gets skewed as boys make efforts to appear in a certain light for the favour of the girl, which makes pecking order behaviour patterns much more obvious and ghastly. Boys learn male Camaraderie from this activity, I think and dare I say, allot of this decay in the boy scouts movement has been caused by a few rogue Akela’s, and over-sensitive mothers, whos overtly PC and feminist ideals, have taken over from theyre care of duty to the boys.

Luckily my version of both the cubs and boy scouts I experienced were close enough to BP’s original vision of scouting for boys to make it worthwhile pursuing as an activity.

The uniform had some kind of pep left although it had been much diminished. the cap instead of a hat was a terrible move, but that was before my time.

I got my axe-mans badge at the age of ? … having thought about this current cub rules say you can’t join cubs until your eight, but I swear I was in cubs well before that age … born in 1972 … maybe I think some cub leaders were a little more Laissez-faire on age requirements, I swear I was between five or seven when i got my axemans badge no older, it was very much the days of, duffers are better dead, Arthur Ransome style self responsibility in those days, it was only later in the eighties that wet parents ruined all the fun, as more and more safety law came in, the kids got to have less and less fun.

At that age I remember passing my axemans badge and chopping wood to keep a fire going all week on camp, having the kindling racked between stakes at different grades, various kinds of washbowl stands, allot of wood and twine ingenuity, an underground oven made from a large cake style tin with doors on them, gutting fresh fish and cooking it, in those days camping looked more like a medieval encampment, quite allot of smoke about, I remember once entering a tent on portsdown hill to see some scout masters prepping what must have been hundreds of tilly and hurricane lamps, they were all fizzing and blazing, golden polished, it was a magical scene I will always remember.

Basically boy scouts and cubs should be for boys and girl guides and brownies should be for girls, if girls want to join scouts and cubs that just implys the ethos of guiding and the brownie movements needs tweaking, to account for girls changing needs, for more outdoor adventure type stuff. The two movements can camp on the same camp grounds whats the problem ?

Its a matter of trust between the leader and the parents and if theyre is none, then there isn’t much point in being a scout leader, as it will be a thankless task.

truth is children need exposure to the outdoors making theyre own food and basic survival and camping skills, self responsibility and to think of others as it enhances them and makes them more rounded human beings, most of the people who were ever cubs and scouts in my day turned out decent people later in life.
